Comprehensive Treatment

Comprehensive treatment is the most common treatment in our office. Having straight teeth is attractive and has many oral health benefits. We recommend initiating orthodontic treatment at the age of 11 or when the last baby teeth are replaced by the new permanent teeth; this is when major growth of the face occurs. By properly initiating treatment during this time of growth, we can provide stable results and minimize relapse.

It takes approximately 15 to 20 months to complete orthodontic treatment depending on the severity of the problem, good patient cooperation and favorable growth.

We can correct the following problems:

  • Bite correction
  • Improving the smile and facial profile
  • Alignment of teeth
  • Guiding canines and 2nd molars into the arch

This video highlights orthodontic treatment options for teenagers. Dr. Kothari shows the reasons for undergoing treatment and presents cases of patients who have benefited from orthodontics.

Interdisciplinary Treatment

For patients with missing teeth or abnormal jaw relationships, we utilize the expertise of dental professionals including restorative dentists, periodontists and oral surgeons. Some of the cases we treat with this approach are:

  • Cleft lip and palate
  • Congenitally missing teeth
  • Teeth lost due to trauma
  • Loss of enamel due to excessive overbite
  • Abnormally shaped teeth
  • Creating space for dental implants
